Exhibition If These Halls Could Talk

Broadwater

If These Halls Could Talk is the second of four exhibitions to be displayed in the region.

The Northern Rivers Community Gallery exhibition showcases the collaborative works produced at two of the halls; Land to Vale, the film made by H.W. Collective who worked closely with the Meerschaum Vale Hall community in the Ballina Shire and 20th Birthday Party, is a performance based work by Spaghetti Circus, Roundabout Theatre and designer and director Joey Ruigrok van der Werven who worked with the community of the Broadwater Rileys Hill Hall in the Richmond Valley.

These two works commissioned by Arts Northern Rivers, both extraordinary in their execution; one high energy and vibrant, the other considered and poetic make for a beautifully diverse and captivating exhibition.

Opening on March 1, with its official launch at the Northern Rivers Community Gallery on Thursday, March 2, the exhibition, curated by Arts Northern Rivers, comprises the screening of Land to Vale and recreates the excitement of the 20th Birthday Party through an immersive installation of colourful cardboard parade props, interviews and hall stories gathered by project media partner ABC North Coast, and photographic documentation by Jules Ober.

Everyone is welcome to the official opening at:
